To say that Hailey loves to be outside is an understatement. With the little teaser of summer we got, Hailey's need/want for going outside is even higher. Chris has been working on a play area for her in the front of the house, clearing away bushes/trees and making room for a playhouse and slide. He found a good deal on a playhouse on craigslist for $75 and actually picked it up yesterday. If I would have known how excited that would have made her, I would have gotten the video camera out. It was awesome.
She finally decided she could go down slides all by herself! She loves, loves slides.
I had to take this pic of her and Uncle Dave... she wanted him to color with her and patted the chair for him to sit down. (He is actually kneeling over it) Poor guy, but Hailey sure loves her Uncle Dave.
Yes, she is naked.... Hailey is in a phase where she hates to put clothes back on. It is often a struggle to get her dressed in the morning and after her showers. She could have goosebumps all over, but if you ask her if she's cold and wants clothes on, she will tell you no!!
Finally got a good picture with Daddy. She loves her Daddy.
The potty chair... so not to get into too much 'Mom Talk,' but Hailey started telling me (well pointing) when she has been going to the bathroom, so I figured, let's get a potty chair. The second day we had it, she actually peed while sitting on it. Well since then uses for the potty have been stuffing it with bath toys and Daddy's poster tubes.
She obviously still isn't ready, but at least the chair is there for her when she is ready!!
Easter...
Hailey loved her dressed. When we got to my parents' house, my Mom wanted some pictures before her dress got dirty (she's eating a cookie in the pic on the left). The one on the right was the first shot and boy was Hailey soaking up the spotlight.
My Mom has told me since Hailey's first Christmas that holidays can be nightmares for kids. They are off their schedules, you get them up early, they don't nap, they don't eat, and they are beasts.
Hailey was an emotional wreck yesterday, poor girl. If this is any clue what her being a teenager is going to be like I am (excuse me) screwed.
We had gotten her up at 6am for church. She did great through church, no melt-downs. She almost fell asleep on the way home, but fought it and didn't fall asleep for a nap until noon, on the way to Chris' parents' house. She probably only slept for an hour... clearly not long enough... and was not happy about being awake. When we headed to my parents around 3.30, she was to the point of just randomly crying at the drop of a hat.
She had her ham-bone moments (above pictures) in between the emotional meltdowns and thoroughly enjoyed shower time with Auntie Katie & my Grandma and the popcorn that followed. Not to mention inhaling the ham my Mom. I think she ate as much as me!
She didn't go down for bed very easily and woke up around 4.30 screaming-- I think just a bad dream and is just waking up now at 8.30. So hopefully the girl is rejuvenated and is back to her normal self today!
No worries about the Potty Chair thing. I can clearly remember Morgan around this age, wanting and asking the same thing. It became a nightmare and I didn't try again until 28months (which she did succeed at potty training). Thus again, with Shelby the same thing happened a month ago. We tried, and failed horribly. And now I will wait again. haha. And getting dressed time is a nightmare here as well. Hugs!
