Hailey is really a cute kid. She has her little personality quirks that make me laugh. Lately, she has been "hoarding." Whenever we leave the house she grabs random things to take with her. Today, we were going to a park. I was loading the car and so was Hailey... I left the front passenger door open to put the diaper bag in. When I got in the car, I looked down and Hailey had put 2 packs of sticker, 3 shoe laces, an apple, a crab apple, a stuffed animal, and 2 books on the floor of the car. It makes me laugh.
When she goes to bed she does the same thing. I have to limit it to her "friends" (stuffed animals). Tonight though, she wanted to wear her Tinkerbell flip-flops to bed. I don't protest anymore. So, off to bed she went with her sandals on. Five minutes after we put her down, she was "crying" on the monitor. I figured it was because she couldn't get the sandals off, so I went to help her. Oh, no... she wanted the bag that was on the floor of her room to put her friends in. (She likes to shove as many friends as she can in the bag to have right by her side). So, as I type Hailey is sleeping with flip flops on. I will tuck her and take her sandals off in a few minutes.
I love her little quirks! She knows how to tug at your little heart strings. I love that girl.
Lucas... oh, I love my Lucas. He is such a good baby. He doesn't really cry. His "cry" is this cute little whine. You really don't even want to pick him up right away because it is so adorable. He loves watching television... more than Hailey did when she was little. He isn't picky either. Cartoons, Jeopardy!, Wheel of Fortune, Football... I never thought I would have to make sure that my almost 3 month old isn't anywhere near where he could watch TV... I don't want to rot the kid's brain this early!! :)
Lucas is swaddled when he naps and goes to bed. He doesn't sleep too long when he isn't swaddled, so for now, that's what we do. When he starts getting tired and I know nap time is coming on fast, I usually lay the blanket on the ground and position him to swaddle. The past few days, he has started giggling when I get him positioned. By the time I have him swaddled and picked up, he is giggling so hard he can't stop himself. I love it!
He also LOVES to talk to you. When my Mom watched him the other day, she gave him a bottle. She had to make sure she didn't make eye contact because he would instantly start smiling and talking to her around the bottle. It was cute. Yesterday, he was talking to loud that he probably could have woken Hailey up from her nap (there is a fan in front of her door because she is a light sleeper).
It's these moments that make me appreciate that I can be a stay-at-home-mom so that I can see new quirks and be able to watch my kids' personalities develop!
Oh my gosh that is hilarious about Hailey and her flip flops. And I hear you on the tantrums, sometimes its just quieter to give in:)
ReplyDeleteLucas is too cute. Glad he is good for you!
